The elder the better - The Elder Statesman

The Elder Statesman, an imprint based in Los Angeles, has unveiled its latest collection for the Holiday 2023-24 (Resort 2024) season. Demonstrating their characteristic style, the brand's newest lineup showcases a genuine appreciation for versatile fabrics.

Presenting a refreshed collection while staying true to brand values is no easy task. However, The Elder Statesman has proven that it can accomplish this feat admirably. The key to their success lies in revisiting the fundamentals. Titled "Soft Luxury," the brand's vision embodies meticulously crafted designs, exceptional materials, and elevated comfort.

Notably, this collection marks the brand's most extensive foray into woven textiles and tailoring. By blending timeless silhouettes with contemporary accents, they bring life to gender-neutral relaxed suits using soft cashmere-wool blends, gradient-dyed silk in vibrant colors, handwoven cashmere, and more. Whether it's a suit, a floor-length wrap skirt, or a cardigan, the collection exudes elegance through its emphasis on ease and enjoyment.

According to Bailey Hunter, the brand's creative director, the Resort collection draws inspiration from their heritage and traditional motifs associated with holidays. Vogue Runway reports that floral patterns, tie-dyes, and stripes—signature elements of the brand—have been reinvented in innovative ways, alongside the introduction of new woven materials to their repertoire.

In addition to the ready-to-wear pieces, The Elder Statesman has collaborated with UGG for the first time. The collaboration showcases a range of boots, clogs, and mules crafted from patchwork sheepskin and adorned with vibrant embroidery.
